External control for end user

Post by webcentrik »

I am bashing my head back and forth with a quote at the moment where the customer wants a lot of the Madrix functionality but without the PC based interface as it will be used in a gym. The literally want push button control, with the ability to do something like a colourwheel to choose a specific colour in the room live, and then to have a colour scroll. Everything that is very simple to do within Madrix but there is also the ability for the customer to 'break' the setup with access to the backend.

I have looked at all the cheap DMX control options such as the glass fronted Amazon specials, all the way through to the better quality Abstract/Nicole Audie solutions, but none seem to fit the bill.

I am contemplating putting together a web page based solution for them now and maybe using the PC that is running Madrix as the controller from the webpage as well.

Has anyone come up with a cost effective solution that doesn't involve lots more interface boxes.

Cheers

Hello webcentrik,

May you know MADRIX provides the possibility to activate a HTTP server. So a possibility would be to let run the MADRIX 5 software on a PC in another room. With the help of a mobile device (like a tablet computer) the trainer in the gym will control MADRIX remotely.
Of course the mobile device and the MADRIX PC must be connected to the same network. The access to the HTTP server is working via the desired web browser at the mobile device.
Under the following link you can learn more about the HTTP server in MADRIX 5:
