2801 LED Strip into Madrix PLEASE HELP

Post by larry »

Hello,

I just discovered Madrix and by far it seems to be the most complete program for LED matrix's which im trying to build for a LED dance for i wish to make.

I have a aDJ myDMX usb to dmx converter

i have 50 x 2801 RBG LED lights

connected to the DMX controller via a DDP-100 DMX decoder.

I cant seem to get Madrix to do anything with the lights.. any help would be awesome as im getting overwhelled very quickly as it seems i cant find the right info i need.

a million thanks!!

Hi larry,

I am sorry to say this, but it is very unlikely that the aDJ myDMX usb to dmx converter is supported by MADRIX.

Still it might be worth trying with MADRIX in demo mode. Please check the following settings in MADRIX:

1) Make sure that all USB drivers are activated under Preferences > Options... > Devices (USB/PCI). (Link: http://help.madrix.com/hidd_optionspage_devices.html)

2) Check if the device is recognized in the Device Manager under Preferences > Device Manager... > DMX Devices (You may use "Rescan For Devices"). Learn more: http://help.madrix.com/hidd_device_page_dmx_output.html

3) Check the Logfile under Tools > Logfile... . If possible please send us the file (Please use "Save To File...").

Thank you!

Hi,

If you are seeing the device in MADRIX that is a step in the right direction. Not every device needs to be configured further. So even if the button "Configure" doesn't work, the device could work.

Please check Preferences > Matrix Generator or Preferences > Patch to set up the DMX addressing of your fixtures. Thanks!
